Multi service provider invests in vehicle tracking technology

A Leeds multi-service provider has partnered with a software developer to install innovative tracking software to locate and manage all its company, client and patrol and response vehicles.

Servo Group has teamed up with Garforth-based Black International to develop GPS-tracking and asset management software for all its Servo-branded vehicles.

The multi-service provider delivers security, CCTV, keyholding and alarm response services to major clients around the country so the new software will be invaluable to keep its clients’ assets safe and secure.

It is the latest in a line of technology-based initiatives from Servo, which has invested over £400,000 into supplier-led tech development in the past two years in a bid to pass added-value to its clients.

The GPS tracking devices from Black International offer the capability to immobilise a vehicle instantly and remotely if it’s stolen or left unattended, and if it is already mobile, the ignition can be turned off as soon as the vehicle stops.

Black International is also developing its asset management and location software for the multi-service provider to enhance its asset management controls and enable Servo to locate and manage its vehicles instantaneously.

It’s the most recent innovation from Servo to enhance its technology offering, as its client list grows, and it targets a £20 million turnover within the next few years.

Earlier this year, Servo teamed up with Harrogate-based Storm to develop workforce management and communications software for its 1000 plus operatives working around the UK.

Last month, the firm also introduced new eco-friendly CCTV towers, which can run on solar power, improving clients’ sustainability, and reducing their carbon footprint.

Christian Kisby, Operations Director at Servo Group said: “Investing in new technology to provide a more innovative approach for our clients is a vital part of our growth. This latest partnership with Black International will offer market-leading asset management and vehicle tracking capabilities, allowing us to keep track of all our patrol, client, and company vehicles at the touch of a button. We explored several asset tracking and management solutions on the market, but Black International’s software and track record was definitely the best fit for our diverse range of national clients.”

The OrchardLite tracking device which will be fitted in Servo’s vehicles is also solar-powered, contributing to the multi-service provider’s commitment to reducing its own carbon footprint after achieving ISO 14001 – the gold standard in environmental management earlier this year.

Rebecca Scott, Account Manager at Black International said: “We are thrilled to be teaming up with a fast-growing, dynamic business like Servo, and we are confident that our Black Orchid products can make a huge difference in locating, tracking and immobilising their assets and vehicles, and pass on huge value to their growing list of clients.”

Servo, which has offices in Leeds and London, has enjoyed fast, national growth since its inception and boasts an impressive client list. It provides security, CCTV, facilities management, rail labour and construction services to firms around the UK.
